Two new singles are in the works:
Alternative Tentacles
“Faster Pussycat Kill Kill” / “In The Long Run”
Following up “Moon Over Marin,” the A-side is the theme from the movie of the same name, while the B-side is a Carrie Nations classic from Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
The cover features a rare photo of Tura Satana, making the whole thing a big salute to Russ Meyer. There will be a video, too.
Killer Kern
“Trouble Comin’ Every Day” / “Hand To Eye”
The other single is a fantastic cover of Frank Zappa’s “Trouble Comin’ Every Day,” backed by a new arrangement of “Hand To Eye” from Lua-O-Milo, Skip’s landmark exotic CD from a couple of decades ago.
A night to remember
Jello Biafra’s first post-stroke vocal appearance was on June 27 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, joining V5 on “Moon Over Marin.”
Art, merch & a little yellow
Raul Gallardo created the artwork for both singles, as well as Hypnocoin and the new bright yellow V5 T-shirt, available at the gigs.
There’s even bigger news on the horizon, especially for the Lena fans.
Come say hello
Stephanie Varela and Daddy Frank are handling the merch table and camera at Los Angeles-area gigs. Say hello and let ’em know you’re keeping tabs.
